Halloween parking, 2026
Halloween falls on a Saturday, so the whole weekend runs late. The Saints are on their bye week, so there's no Dome game. Here's what fills up, and when.
Saturday, Oct. 31
6 PM tip-off
Pelicans vs. Atlanta Hawks, Smoothie King Center
Garages along Poydras fill before tip-off, and the game lets out right as Halloween crowds head for the Quarter. Book a garage spot ahead, or park once in the CBD and walk to both.
Parking near the Smoothie King CenterAll night
The French Quarter
Bourbon Street is closed to cars at night, and Quarter curbs are full by early evening. Park at the edge (the CBD side of Canal, or the river side of the Marigny) and walk in.
Parking near the French QuarterAfter about 10 PM
Frenchmen Street costume party
The Marigny's live-music strip turns into one big costumed street party. The side streets fill fast. Don't block a driveway: neighbors call tows on Halloween too.
Parking near Frenchmen Street10 PM to 3 AM
Halloween New Orleans costume party, the Fillmore
At Harrah's, at the foot of Canal Street. Downtown casino and hotel garages are the easy move here; street spots near Canal are gone by then.
Sunday, Nov. 1
2 AM
Clocks fall back an hour
If you're out past 2 AM, your phone changes time but a ticket stub or garage exit time doesn't. Double-check when you have to move the car.
All day
All Saints' Day
Families visit and tidy their tombs. Expect full curbs around the cemeteries, especially along Canal Street and City Park Avenue in Mid-City, where the Cemeteries streetcar line ends.
1 PM to 4:30 PM, then a second line
Tea dance at Woldenberg Riverfront Park
The Halloween New Orleans tea dance at the Gov. Nicholls St. Wharf, followed by a second line through the Quarter. Lower Quarter streets close as it passes.
Don't end the night at the tow lot
- Private lots tow all night. On a typical Saturday night they tow about 6 cars in and around the Quarter. Pay the lot, read the sign, keep the receipt. Lots that tow most
- Stay 15 feet from hydrants and 20 feet from crosswalks at corners, and off the neutral ground unless the City opens it. Posted signs always win.
- Save where you parked in Easy Lane. Finding the car after midnight, in costume, is harder than it sounds, and you'll get a heads-up if something changes on that block.
Got towed anyway? Where your car is and how to get it back.
